The Working Copy Browser

The working copy browser displays a familiar, Finder-like interface for manipulating the working copy’s files. It also provides you with an at-a-glance overview of the status of the files in your working copy.

A working copy’s browser is displayed by selecting the working copy from the source list.

Getting Around

Staying Up to Date

The working copy browser is automatically refreshed when

  1. an operation is performed on items in the working copy;
  2. the app is activated; and
  3. items in the working copy’s repository folder are locked or unlocked.

The working copy browser can be manually refreshed at any time by selecting the Refresh command from the View menu (key equivalent ⌘R).

Options

The following toolbar buttons control the behavior of the working copy browser:

Show ignored files and folders. By default ignored items are not shown. This is equivalent to toggling the View > Show Ignored Items menu item.
Show the contents of external definitions. This is equivalent to toggling the View > Show Contents of Externals menu item

Enabling expansion of large external directories can have a significant negative impact on browsing performance, especially when combined with View > Show Repository Status

Show the repository status of the browser items. This is equivalent to toggling the View > Show Repository Status menu item

Enabling View > Show Repository Status will cause Cornerstone to contact the repository every time the working copy is committed, updated or refreshed in the browser. Depending on the location of your repository this can have a significant impact on browser performance.
